Why hosting matters for SEO
Server speed, uptime, security and correct redirects all influence how search engines and visitors experience your site. Frequent downtime, slow response times, missing HTTPS or a messy migration can quietly erode rankings. Good hosting management removes these risks.
What I handle
Domain management
Registration, renewals, ownership and correct nameserver setup.
DNS configuration
A, CNAME, MX, TXT and other records for the website, email and verification.
Hosting setup
Choosing and configuring shared, managed or cloud hosting to suit the project.
VPS and server basics
Setting up a virtual private server, basic Linux administration and updates.
SSL certificates
HTTPS installed, renewed and enforced across the whole site.
Deployment
Clean, repeatable launches with correct redirects and environment checks.
Backups
Scheduled backups and a clear way to restore.
Uptime monitoring
Alerts when the site goes down, so problems are caught quickly.
Website migration without losing rankings
Moving to a new host, domain or structure is one of the riskiest moments for SEO. This is my approach.
Inventory
Crawl the current site and record every URL, redirect and key metric.
Prepare
Build and test the new environment on a staging copy.
Map redirects
Match every old URL to its new equivalent with 301 redirects.
Switch
Lower DNS TTLs, deploy, point DNS and verify SSL.
Check
Re-crawl, test redirects, submit sitemaps and watch Search Console for errors.
Launch checklist
- HTTPS works on every page and HTTP redirects to HTTPS
- One preferred version of the domain, with or without www
- robots.txt and XML sitemap are live and not blocking important pages
- Analytics and Search Console are verified
- Backups are scheduled and a restore has been tested
- Uptime monitoring is active
- Forms, email and DNS records are tested
